22 March 2010, 17:59  Grees: German banks are making money at Greece's expense

German banks are making money at Greece's expense, Deputy Prime Minister Theodoros Panaglos charged on Monday, as the country waits on Berlin and the EU for help to mend its massive debt woes. "What is behind the German position is that you decide that in speculating against the bonds of your partner and friend, and in allowing monetary and credit institutions to take part in this miserable game, people in Germany are making money," Pangalos told an investment forum. German bank chief presses for eurozone reforms. "While the countries of southern Europe suffer from the fall of the euro, German exports gain from the weakness in the euro," Pangalos said.
