14 May 2008, 09:26  Japan: Сorporate goods prices rose 3.7%

Сorporate goods prices Japan in April rose 3.7% from a year earlier, lifted by a surge in oil and steel costs, the Bank of Japan said. The index for domestic corporate goods prices stood at 107.3 in the month, the central bank said.
In categories that contributed to the index's rise in April, petroleum and coal products costs jumped 19.6 percent from a year earlier, while steel prices rose 15.6 percent. Costs of processed food also increased 3.9 percent in the month. Corporate goods prices rose 0.6 % due to an increase in food and steel prices, the central bank said.
