Bank of Japan Governor Toshihiko Fukui said Friday that Japan's economic conditions are favorable. The Japanese economy "is in good shape," Fukui told reporters on the sidelines of the Swiss National Bank's centenary celebrations. He refrained from making any further comments. Many analysts expect the central bank to raise its overnight call rate to 0.75% from the current 0.5% at its meeting in late August.
