France's budget deficit narrowed to 51.730 bln eur in the first eight months of the year from a deficit of 62.700 bln in the same period last year, the Finance Ministry said. Revenue fell to 139.570 bln eur from 151.940 bln, and spending fell to 177.960 bln from 197.120 bln. Treasury operations produced a deficit of 13.340 bln, against a deficit of 17.520 bln a year earlier.
