Business investment in the UK rose by 1.6 pct in the second quarter from the previous three months for an annual rise of 4.8 pct, figures from the Office for National Statistics showed. The figures are revised slightly from the provisional estimates released last month for a quarterly gain of 1.7 pct and a year-on-year rise of 4.2 pct. Analysts polled by AFX News had expected the figures to be unrevised. In the first quarter there were increases of 2.0 pct and 3.7 pct respectively. The level of business investment in the second quarter stood at 30.09 bln stg, marginally up on the provisional figure of 30.05 bln stg.
