The GfK market research institute said consumer sentiment remains strong and its consumer climate index for Germany is forecast to climb to 8.6 points in September from a revised 8.5 in August.
The September reading is a bit better than the 8.5 point forecast.
GfK predicted last month the August index would reach 8.6 points.
In its survey, GfK said consumer sentiment in Germany appears to have reached its peak in the late summer months. The institute said that while consumers are slightly more pessimistic about the general economic outlook, their willingness to purchase big-ticket items remains strong.
