23 June 2006, 18:01  Belgian June business confidence indicator 10.1 in June vs 2.0 in May

The Belgian business confidence indicator rose to a record high of 10.1 points in June from 2.0 points in May, the Belgian National Bank said. The bank said that the level was the highest since records began in 1980 and reflected a positive climate in business and manufacturing. Economists polled by AFX News had forecast an unchanged level of 2.0. The sub-indicator for commerce increased to 11.7 points from 0.3 points, while the manufacturing sub-indicator rose to 10.6 points from 1.4 points. A separate indicator for construction fell to 5.9 points from 6.4 points, while the services industry increased to 12.1 points from 10.2 points
