11 April 2006, 17:25  Dollar rises against the yen

The dollar rose against the yen but was little changed against the euro early Tuesday, as the Japanese currency was weighed down by comments from the Bank of Japan Governor Toshihiko Fukui who refused to signal any expedited schedule for the removal of the zero interest rate policy. At the same time, the euro came under modest pressure after the ZEW indicator of economic sentiment for Germany unexpectedly fell for the third month in April. In early New York trading, the euro was down 0.05% at $1.21, while the dollar rose 0.3% to 118.85 yen
