7 February 2006, 14:26  Germany: December, industrial output down 0.5 % m/m

Industrial output, including energy and construction, fell a seasonally adjusted 0.5 pct in December from November, according to preliminary data from the Economy and Technology Ministry. Economists polled by AFX News had forecast a month-on-month rise of 1.0 pct. The ministry said that despite the decline, it still expects an overall positive trend for industrial output in the coming months. Industrial production excluding energy and construction dipped 0.8 pct, impacted by a 2.4 pct decline in the production of investment goods. Output in the construction industry and energy sectors rose 3.4 pct and 1.4 pct respectively. Final figures show industrial output including energy and construction dipped 0.4 pct month-on-month in November, confirming preliminary figures published last month.
