9 December 2005, 10:30  German Oct current account surplus 6.4 bln eur vs 7.8 bln in Sept

Germany's current account showed a surplus of 6.4 bln eur in October compared with a surplus of 7.8 bln in September, while the trade surplus totaled 12.2 bln eur in October compared to 15.0 bln in September, according to provisional figures from the Federal Statistics Office. German exports rose 7.2 pct in October to 68.7 bln eur year-on-year, while imports rose 9.4 pct to 56.5 bln, the office said. According to seasonally adjusted data, October exports fell 0.6 pct from Sept, while imports rose 3.1 pct, it said.
