Housing starts in November rose 12.6 pct year-on-year to 110,986 units, the second straight monthly rise, data issued by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport show. Housing starts rose 9.1 pct year-on-year in October. In November, starts on houses for rent rose 17.0 pct to 49,119 units, the eighth consecutive monthly increase and starts on dwellings in multi-unit buildings increased 12.2 pct to 31,519 units, up for a seventh straight month. Starts on owner-occupied houses rose 6.4 pct to 29,679 units, the first rise in 15 months.
