Euro zone new industrial orders rose 1.1 pct in September from August, and were up 4.6 pct year-on-year, EU statistics agency Eurostat reported. Eurostat revised August industrial orders to a month-on-month rise of 0.1 pct from a fall of 0.1 pct. In September, Eurostat said transport equipment orders posted a rise of 4.4 pct from August, electrical and electronic equipment climbed 2.8 pct, basic metals and fabricated metal products increased 1.0 pct and chemicals and chemical products rose 0.2 pct. Machinery and equipment however fell 0.8 pct while textiles and textile products dropped 4.3 pct. Compared with a year earlier, transport equipment orders were up 3.4 pct, electrical and electronic equipment climbed 11.7 pct, basic metals and fabricated metal products edged up 3.3 pct, chemicals and chemical products increased 4.4 pct, machinery and equipment rose 8.2 pct, while textiles and textile products dropped 8.0 pct.
