8 September 2005, 10:35  German July trade surplus 14.1 bln eur vs surplus 16.7 bln in June

Germany's trade surplus narrowed to 14.1 bln eur in July from 16.7 bln in June but was up from 13.5 bln in July last year, the Federal Statistics Office said. The June figure was slightly revised down from 16.8 bln, which the office had given last month. The July current account was a surplus of 7.3 bln eur from a surplus of 11.1 bln in June and a surplus of 6.6 bln in July last year, it said. Total imports in July were at 50.1 bln eur compared with 52.0 bln in June and 48.7 bln in July last year. Exports totalled 64.2 bln in July from 68.7 bln in June and 62.2 bln in July last year.
