German Economy Minister Wolfgang Clement said he has signed an agreement to release 474,000 tonnes of crude oil and mineral oil products from the country's national reserves. Clement said releasing the products from the national reserves is an expression of Germany's solidarity with the US and its citizens who were affected by Hurricane Katrina. A ministry statement said the 474,000 tonnes of crude oil represent about 3.6 mln barrels of oil.
