2 August 2005, 13:20  UK CIPS July construction activity index falls to 54.7 vs 55.8 in June

Growth in the UK construction sector in July continued to show solid levels of activity although a touch lower from the six-month high in June, a key survey of the sector showed. The Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply said today that the headline index of activity fell to 54.7 from 55.8 in June. The latest reading indicates that the index has been above the 50 point level which signals that growth is taking place for the 44th month in a row.
