The Bank of Spain said the current account deficit widened to 5.258 bln eur in May from 3.314 bln a year earlier, mainly as a result of the increase in the trade deficit, which grew to 5.653 bln from 4.078 bln. The surplus in services narrowed to 2.056 bln eur in May from 2.112 bln a year earlier, while the surplus in tourism declined 7.1 pct to 2.171 bln eur from 2.336 bln eur a year earlier.
