Germany's trade surplus in May was at 12.0 bln euro, down from the surplus of 12.7 bln in April and down from a surplus of 14.0 bln in May last year, the Federal Statistics Office said. It said the current account surplus in May totaled 5.2 bln euro compared with the surplus of 7.2 bln in April and 7.8 bln in May last year. German exports reached 63.6 bln euro in May, down from 64.5 bln in April but up from 60.4 bln in May last year. German imports were at 51.6 bln euro in May, down from 51.8 bln in April and compared with 46.4 bln in May last year.
