German shares were slightly higher in late morning trade, with ThyssenKrupp and MAN leading the way among advancers on a technical rally after recent selling of the stocks, dealers said. At 11.43 am, the DAX 30 index was 3.97 points higher or 0.08 pct at 4847.33, having moved between 4,839.77-4,857.60 so far this session. The MDAX was at 6,624.98, up 5.03 points or 0.08 pct, while the TecDAX was at 590.59, up 4.01 points or 0.68 pct. The DAX futures was at 4,867.0, up 7.0 points or 0.14 pct, while the bund futures was at 122.73, up 0.19. The euro last traded at 1.1992 usd, compared with 1.1986 in early London trade. Traders said there were no company-specific news that drove ThyssenKrupp and MAN prices higher but noted the two were the targets of a sell-off in recent days. ThyssenKrupp was up 0.17 eur or 1.11 pct at 15.43 while MAN was up 0.48 or 1.27 pct at 38.18 Heavyweight Deutsche Telekom was among the biggest gainers, adding 0.12 or 0.74 pct at 16.31 after a slew of US peers released quarterly results yesterday that pleased investors. Goldman Sachs also reiterated its 'in-line' stance on the stock, dealers said. On the downside, Infineon wallowed at the bottom of the blue chip board a day after it released quarterly results that missed consensus. CSFB reiterated its 'neutral' stance and 8 eur price target but cut its 2005 EPS target from minus 0.07 eur to minus 0.15 eur excluding one-offs and its 2006 EPS target from 0.37 eur to 0.26 eur. Deutsche Bank reiterated its 'buy' recommendation on Infineon but raised its 2005 EPS estimates from 0.28 eur to 0.33 and its 2006 estimates from 0.07 eur to 0.11 eur. MorganStanley's 'underweight' and Lehman's 'equal-weight' were both reiterated with Lehman cutting its price target to 7.5 eur. Bucking the trend was Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, which upgraded Infineon to 'add' from 'reduce', and raised its target price to 10 eur from a previous 6.50 eur.
