9 May 2005, 13:24  There is no change in Japan's policy against sharp foreign exchange movements

Japan's vice finance minister said on Monday there was no change in its policy of taking action against sharp foreign exchange movements. "We stand ready to take decisive action against sudden movements," Vice Finance Minister Koichi Hosokawa told a news conference when asked about Japan's currency policy and recent criticism from U.S. industrial circles over Japan's intervention policy to cap the yen's rise.
