Germany's crude oil import bill rose 38 percent to 26.6 billion euros ($34.22 billion) in the 12 months to March 2005 compared with the same year-ago period, official data showed on Wednesday.
Federal economics statistics office BAFA said in a statement the April 04-March 05 import bill was up by 7.3 billion euros from April 03-March 04.
Import volumes in the period rose by 4.9 percent to 111.5 million tonnes from 106.3 million in the previous 12 months.
