New housing prices were up moderately from February, while the 12-month rate of increase remained the same at 5.1%. Generally, the market for new homes continued to be active. Increased costs for building materials and labour along with favourable market conditions led to higher new home prices. Land value increases were a factor in 8 of the 21 metropolitan areas surveyed.
