The U.S. dollar was mixed Tuesday morning against other major currencies in European trading. Gold prices rose. The euro was quoted at $1.2843, up from $1.2823 Monday. Other dollar rates compared with late Monday included: 105.76 Japanese yen, up from 105.58; 1.2037 Swiss francs, down from 1.2063, and 1.2364 Canadian dollars, down from 1.2382. The British pound was quoted at $1.8794, down from $1.8827. Gold traded in London at $426.90 bid per troy ounce, up from $425.85 late Monday. In Zurich the bid price was $426.85, up from $425.55.
