7 April 2005, 16:08  Dollar Is Lower Against Other Major Currencies, Gold Is Up in Europe

The U.S. dollar fell Thursday morning against other major currencies in European trading. Gold prices rose.
The euro was quoted at $1.2910, up from $1.2842 Wednesday.
Other dollar rates compared with late Tuesday included:
108.24 Japanese yen, down from 108.65;
1.2003 Swiss francs, down from 1.2079,
and 1.2195 Canadian dollars, down from 1.2246.
The British pound was quoted at $1.8782, up from $1.8757.
Gold traded in London at $426.40 bid per troy ounce, up from $425.20 on Wednesday.
In Zurich, the bid price was $426.40, up from $425.05.
Gold rose 60 cents to close at $426.85 an ounce in Hong Kong.
Silver traded in London at $7.12 bid per troy ounce, up from $7.05 on Wednesday.
