4 April 2005, 15:51  Dollar Rises Against Other Major Currencies, Gold Is Mixed in Europe

The U.S. dollar rose Monday morning against other major currencies in European trading. Gold prices were mixed.
The euro was quoted at $1.2890, down from $1.2967 Friday.
Other dollar rates compared with late rates Friday included:
108.00 Japanese yen, up from 107.17;
1.2048 Swiss francs, up from 1.1969;
and 1.2165 Canadian dollars, up from 1.2122.
The British pound was quoted at $1.8767, down from $1.8887.
Gold traded in London at $425.95 bid per troy ounce, up from $425.50 on Friday.
In Zurich, the bid price was $425.55, down from $425.60.
Gold fell $2.20 in Hong Kong to close at $425.75.
Silver traded in London at $6.96 bid per troy ounce, down from $7.01.
