The U.S. dollar was mixed Monday morning against other major currencies in European trading. Gold prices fell. The euro was quoted at $1.2972, down from $1.3078 Friday. Other dollar rates compared with late Friday included: 105.74 Japanese yen, down from 105.83; 1.1896 Swiss francs, up from 1.1800, and 1.2374 Canadian dollars, up from 1.2328. The British pound was quoted at $1.9106, down from $1.9154. Gold traded in London at $433.00 bid per troy ounce, down from $434.50 on Friday. Gold fell 20 U.S. cents in Hong Kong to close at $433.35.
