The U.S. dollar was mixed Friday morning against other major currencies in European trading. Gold prices also were mixed.
The euro was quoted at $1.2825, up from $1.2798 Thursday.
Other dollar rates compared with late Thursday included:
108.28 Japanese yen, up from 108.24;
1.2102 Swiss francs, down from 1.2151;
and 1.2442 Canadian dollars, up from 1.2421.
The British pound was quoted at $1.8805, up from $1.8789.
Gold traded in London at $423.65 bid per troy ounce, up from $423.60 late Thursday.
In Zurich, the bid price was $422.90, down from $423.93.
Gold fell $5.40 in Hong Kong to close at $423.55.
Silver traded in London at $7.00 bid per troy ounce, down from $7.03.
