14 April 2005, 14:53  Dollar Mixed Against Other Major Currencies in European Trading; Gold Prices Fall

The U.S. dollar was mixed against other major currencies in European trading Thursday.
Gold prices fell.
The euro was quoted at US$1.2838, down from US$1.2887 late Wednesday.
Other dollar rates compared with Wednesday:
--107.86 Japanese yen, up from 107.33
--1.2098 Swiss francs, up from 1.2033
--1.2403 Canadian dollars, up from 1.2376
The British pound was quoted at US$1.8846, down from US$1.8911.
Gold traded in London at US$427.20 bid per troy ounce, down from US$428.15 late Wednesday.
In Zurich the bid price was US$426.90, down from US$427.93.
Gold closed at US$428.95 an ounce in Hong Kong, unchanged from Wednesday's close.
Silver traded in London at US$7.14 bid per troy ounce, down from US$7.21.
