9 March 2005, 14:40  Dollar Mixed, Gold Rises in European Trading

The U.S. dollar was mixed against other major currencies in European trading Wednesday.
Gold prices rose.
The euro was quoted at $1.3367, up from $1.3334 Tuesday.
Other dollar rates compared with late Tuesday:
--103.91 Japanese yen, down from 104.49
--1.1607 Swiss francs, up from 1.1603
--1.2069 Canadian dollars, down from 1.2142
The British pound was quoted at $1.9261, down from $1.9299.
Gold traded in London at $439.90 bid per troy ounce, up from $438.20 on Tuesday.
In Zurich the metal traded at $440.30, up from $437.78.
Gold rose $4.40 in Hong Kong to close at $440.25.
Silver traded in London at $7.54 bid per troy ounce, up from $7.50.
