30 March 2005, 16:35  Dollar Is Lower, Gold Mixed in Europe

The U.S. dollar fell Wednesday morning against other major currencies in European trading. Gold prices were mixed.
The euro was quoted at $1.2953, up from $1.2903 Tuesday.
Other dollar rates compared with late Tuesday included:
107.44 Japanese yen, down from 107.49;
1.1979 Swiss francs, down from 1.2041,
1.2114 Canadian dollars, down from 1.2131.
The British pound was quoted at $1.8818, up from $1.8727.
Gold traded in London at $426.20 bid per troy ounce, up from $425.95 on Tuesday.
In Zurich the bid price was $426.10, down from $426.20.
Gold fell 70 cents in Hong Kong to close at $426.65.
Silver traded in London at $6.97 bid per troy ounce, up from $6.94.
