15 March 2005, 15:54  Dollar Drop Against Other Major Currencies, Gold Is Lower in Europe

The U.S. dollar fell Tuesday morning against other major currencies in European trading. Gold prices also fell.
The euro was quoted at $1.3380, up from $1.3367 Monday.
Other dollar rates compared with late Monday included:
104.52 Japanese yen, down from 104.94;
1.1583 Swiss francs, down from 1.1604, and
1.2058 Canadian dollars, down from 1.2062.
The British pound was quoted at $1.9183, up from $1.9108.
Gold traded in London at $440.10 bid per troy ounce, down from $441.00 on Monday.
In Zurich, the metal traded at $440.53, down from $441.23.
Gold fell $2.10 to close at $441.05 in Hong Kong.
Silver traded in London at $7.36 bid per troy ounce, down from $7.39.
