11 March 2005, 15:54  Dollar Is Mixed Against Most Other Major Currencies, Gold Up in Europe

The U.S. dollar was narrowly mixed Friday morning against most other major currencies in European trading. Gold prices rose.
The euro was quoted at $1.3410, down from $1.3413 Thursday.
Other dollar rates compared with late Thursday included:
104.15 Japanese yen, down from 104.18;
1.1551 Swiss francs, up from 1.1540,
and 1.2053 Canadian dollars, up from 1.2037.
The British pound was quoted at $1.9189, down from $1.9250.
Gold traded in London at $440.95 bid per troy ounce, up from $440.80 on Thursday.
In Zurich, the bid was $440.90, up from $440.50.
Gold fell $1.40 in Hong Kong to close at $440.45.
Silver traded in London at $7.45 bid per troy ounce, down from $7.47.
