The U.S. dollar was mixed Thursday morning against other major currencies in European trading. Gold prices were also mixed.
The euro was quoted at $1.3405, up from $1.3364 Wednesday.
Other dollar rates compared with late Wednesday included:
104.26 Japanese yen, up from 103.97;
1.1548 Swiss francs, down from 1.1622,
and 1.2034 Canadian dollars, down from 1.2085.
The British pound was quoted at $1.9263, up from $1.9220.
Gold traded in London at $440.20 bid per troy ounce, up from $439.80 on Wednesday.
In Zurich, the bid price was $439.80, unchanged.
Gold rose $1.60 in Hong Kong to close at $441.85.
Silver traded in London at $7.57 bid per troy ounce, up from $7.47.
