10 February 2005, 15:56  Dollar Mixed Against Other Major Currencies in European Trading; Gold Prices Rise

The U.S. dollar was mixed Thursday morning against other major currencies in European trading. Gold prices rose.
The euro was quoted at $1.2789, unchanged from Wednesday.
Other dollar rates compared with late rates Wednesday included:
105.91 Japanese yen, up from 105.75;
1.2175 Swiss francs, down from 1.2176,
and 1.2485 Canadian dollars, unchanged.
The British pound was quoted at $1.8608, up from $1.8580.
Gold dealers in London fixed a recommended price of $413.50 bid per troy ounce at midmorning, up from $412.20 on Wednesday.
In Zurich the bid price was $413.28, up from $411.65.
Gold markets in Hong Kong were closed for a public holiday.
Silver opened in London at $6.60 bid per troy ounce, up from $6.55.
