Tokyo stocks edged up Tuesday morning following Wall Street's mixed results. The dollar was down against the Japanese yen.
The Nikkei Stock Average of 225 issues rose 52.92 points, or 0.48 percent, to end morning trading at 11,156.34. On Monday, the index gained 25.10 points, or 0.23 percent.
The dollar bought 103.86 yen at 11 a.m. in Tokyo, down 0.58 yen from late Monday and below the 104.05 yen in New York trading later that day.
