Dollar Falls Against Other Major Currencies, Gold Is Mixed in Europe
The U.S. dollar was mostly lower against other major currencies in European trading Monday morning. Gold prices were mixed.
The euro was quoted at $1.3355, up from $1.3262 late Friday.
Other dollar rates:
--104.36 Japanese yen, up from 104.32
--1.1502 Swiss francs, down from 1.1585
--1.2274 Canadian dollars, down from 1.2328
The British pound was quoted at $1.9466, up from $1.9350.
Gold traded in London at $442.10 bid per troy ounce, up from $438 late Friday.
In Zurich the bid price was $441.30, up from $437.28.
Gold rose $2.40 in Hong Kong to close at $431.75.
Silver opened in London at $6.78 bid per troy ounce, up from $6.67.
