1 December 2004, 13:30  Dollar slides to 12-year low vs pound

TOKYO, Dec 1 - The dollar hit a 12-year low against the pound on Wednesday due to persistent worries about the U.S. current account deficit as well as recent upbeat data on the British economy.
The dollar traded as low as $1.9148 against the pound, its weakest level since late 1992, according to data. After hitting the low, the dollar recovered to around $1.9130.
