28 October 2004, 14:42 Italy October CPI +2.0% y/y
Italian consumer prices rose 2.0 percent year-on-year in October, economists forecast on Thursday after 13 Italian cities from Turin to Palermo reported inflation figures below economists' forecasts.
The anticipated increase compared with a 2.1 percent year-on-year rise in September.
The price data suggested prices dropped 0.1 percent month-on-month in the euro zone's third-largest economy, after being flat in September.
Earlier this week a poll of economists forecast October CPI would rise a median 0.2 percent month-on-month for an annual inflation rate of 2.2 percent. ||||
