European Union finance ministers should warn Italy over its budget deficit which is set to breach the EU's limit, European Economic and Monetary Affairs Commissioner Joaquin Almunia said on Monday. "We cannot delay the decison," Almunia told reporters on his way into a meeting of euro zone finance ministers. The Commission had recommended in May that finance ministers issue Italy with an early warning over its growing budget deficit but the decision on such a warning was delayed until today. "The measures have to be adopted in the coming days," he said referring to measures to reduce Italy's budget deficit. Almunia said the reasons for the Commission recommending an early warning to Italy over its budget deficit "are even more present today."///
