U.S. stocks opened lower on Friday after a report showed the U.S. economy slowed more than expected in the second quarter as consumers curbed their spending. The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> slipped 10.03 points, or 0.1 percent, to 10,119.21. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was down 0.94 points, or 0.09 percent, at 1,099.49.
