27 May 2004, 09:47 Sterling hits six-week high vs dollar
Sterling rose to its highest level since mid-April against the dollar on Thursday, as the U.S. currency faced pressure on worries that high oil prices could hurt the country's economy.
Sterling was at $1.8234 , its strongest since April 13, at 0521 GMT. Traders said trading was thin and price actions were exaggerated.///
