19 May 2004, 09:24  Dollar falls one yen from day's high on Nikkei

The dollar was down more than one yen from the day's high on Wednesday afternoon, pressured by a 2.5 percent rise in Tokyo's Nikkei share average. The U.S. currency slipped to 113.16 yen from a high of 114.19 yen in Tokyo trading as the Nikkei <.N225> climbed 2.50 percent, buoyed by renewed optimism about Japan's economic recovery. The yen was also up more than one yen per euro, trading at 135.48/56 yen versus 136.59 in late U.S. deals.///www.reutres.com
