30 April 2004, 17:37  US stocks higher after previous session losses

U.S. stocks opened higher on Friday as investors went bargain-hunting after two days of losses sent the major indexes to their lowest levels in a month on fears of rising interest rates. Shortly after the open the Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was up 19.66 points, or 0.19 percent, at 10,291.93. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was up 1.90 points, or 0.17 percent, at 1,115.79. The technology-focused Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was up 2.26 points, or 0.12 percent, at 1,961.04.///
