31 March 2004, 10:37  Dollar falls two yen to near 4-year low

The dollar fell two yen on Wednesday from the day's high as the yen soared on optimism about the Japanese economy and amid speculation that Japan had scaled back its campaign of massive currency intervention. Traders said expectations for a strong reading in the Bank of Japan's quarterly "tankan" survey on Thursday encouraged dollar-selling, driving the U.S. currency as low as 103.85 yen , its lowest since June 2000.//www.reuters.com
