16 December 2003, 15:31  French 2005 forecast deficit still too high-Solbes

PARIS, Dec 16 - European Economic and Monetary Affairs Commissioner Pedro Solbes said on Tuesday that France's revised public finances programme for the 2007-2007 period only partially satisfied the European Union's executive body. Solbes told French radio BFM that with a forecast deficit of 2.9 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) in 2005, France still remained perilously close to the deficit ceiling of three percent of GDP set out in the EU's Stability and Growth Pact.///
