WELLINGTON (AFX-ASIA) - New Zealand's central Reserve Bank has left the country's benchmark interest rate unchanged at 5.0 pct.
In a brief statement it said the official cash rate at 5.0 pct was still able to hold inflation within its target range of between 1.0 pct and 3.0 pct.
Inflation remains steady at 1.5 pct, although Reserve Bank Governor Alan Bollard has warned it is likely to rise to just below the ceiling within two years.
