12 September 2003, 11:40  Italy June industry orders rise 0.8% m/m

ROME, Sept 12 - Italian industrial orders, a gauge of future production, rose an adjusted 0.8 percent in June from May, national statistics agency Istat said on Friday. Year-on-year, orders fell an unadjusted 2.7 percent with national demand down by 3.6 percent and international demand dipping 0.9 percent from the same month last year. Istat also said industry sales rose an adjusted 0.5 percent month-on-month and dropped an unadjusted 0.9 percent year-on- year in June. The statistical series is considered extremely volatile.//
