30 July 2003, 09:52  Swiss consumer prices fell 0.8 percent in July from June

ZURICH, July 30 - Swiss consumer prices fell 0.8 percent in July from June and were 0.3 percent higher compared with the year-ago month, the Federal Statistics Office said on Wednesday. Economists' estimates for the year-on-year rise ranged from 0.4 percent to 1.1 percent, with the average of nine forecasts at 0.8 percent. In the previous month, consumer prices had risen 0.5 percent on the year and were flat on the month.
