6 May 2003, 17:11  ECB Forex reserves fell by 0.4 bln euros in wk

FRANKFURT, May 6 - The European Central Bank said on Tuesday foreign currency reserves of the euro zone central banks in the week ending May 2 fell by a net 0.4 billion euros while its gold holdings were unchanged.
The net position of the ECB and euro zone central banks in foreign exchange reserves totalled 211 billion euros at the end of the reporting week, the ECB said. The ECB said customer and portfolio transactions accountred for the developments. Gold reserves were unchanged at 122.274 billion euros, the bank said in its regular weekly consolidated financial statement.//
