24 April 2003, 15:44  Euro trade surplus narrows in February

The eurozone trade surplus narrowed by 25pc in February from a year earlier as imports rose faster than exports. The eurozone posted a surplus of E5.2bn in February compared with a year-earlier surplus of E7.0bn, EU statistics office Eurostat said today.
Exports edged up by 0.25pc to E84.6bn in February 2003 from a year earlier, while imports climbed by 2.6pc to E79.7bn. Eurostat said it revised the eurozone's trade deficit for January to E0.9bn from a previous estimate of a E1.5bn deficit. //www.fxcentre.com
