The U.S. dollar was mixed Wednesday against other major currencies in European trading. Gold prices fell.
The euro was quoted at $1.0643, down from $1.0690 Tuesday.
Other dollar rates compoared with late rates Tuesday included: 120.37 Japanese yen, down from 119.86; 1.3852 Swiss francs, up from 1.3769, and 1.4700 Canadian dollars, down from 1.4765.
The British pound was quoted at $1.5729, up from $1.5704.
Gold dealers in London fixed a recommended price of $329.60 bid per troy ounce at midmorning, down from $329.90 on Tuesday. In Zurich the bid was $328.88, down from $329.62.
Gold fell $4.55 in Hong Kong to $329.25
Silver opened in London at $4.37 bid per troy ounce, down from $4.38.
